Built for actors who do the work
Actors spend hours rehearsing by themselves. Reading lines off a page, mumbling the other character's part, trying to get the rhythm right without anyone reading opposite them. It works, but it's not how scenes are meant to be heard.
blablabla was built to fill that gap. You bring the scene, pick your character, and the app reads every other part aloud. Not a monotone text-to-speech voice - actual voices that give the dialogue shape. Then it waits for you. However long you need.
That last part matters most. A rehearsal partner that rushes you or talks over you isn't a partner. blablabla follows your pace. It only speaks when it's not your turn. The rest is up to you.
Made in Denmark
blablabla is designed and built by Elias Munk in Copenhagen. The app is a one-person project, which means decisions happen fast and every feature exists because an actor actually needed it.
The design follows a principle borrowed from Scandinavian furniture: everything should be functional, nothing should be decorative for its own sake, and the materials should feel honest. The warm colors, the serif type, the calm pacing - these aren't aesthetic choices for aesthetics' sake. They're there so the app gets out of your way and lets you focus on the scene.
What blablabla is not
blablabla is not a self-tape studio, an acting coach, or a casting tool. It doesn't give you notes. It doesn't tell you how to read a line. It doesn't record you on camera.
It's a rehearsal partner. It reads the other parts so you can practice yours. That's it. We do the blablabla, you do the acting.
