The practical bits

They sign in to the blablabla app, open Settings, tap Redeem a gift code, type it in and confirm their account. The app shows when their gift starts.

Three years from purchase. The Pro months start when the gift becomes active, not when you buy it. If they already subscribe, the gift waits behind their paid coverage.

The gift waits. Their gifted months start when their paid subscription ends. If it keeps renewing, the gift stays saved until they cancel.
